A professional painter has a trained hand and carries a wealth of knowledge on types of paint, sheens, finishes and techniques. Here are some painting tips from a few of our skilled painting contractors.
Do not allow the full length of the bristles to dip into the paint. If you do, you'll end up with excess paint running down the handle while you're cutting in.
You do not need to wipe the brush off against the rim of the paint can. If you do, you'll end up with too little paint in your brush and you will need to reload more often.
If your brush starts to "finger", or clump together because it has been allowed to run dry, clean your brush with a comb and spin it dry. Start over, but this time don't let your brush get too dry!
